Instead of spending hours playing video games, this 14 year old programmed a game, a game that has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times.
This story tends to hit a bit closer to home for me because I live in Orem Utah and Robert Nay the creator of "Bubble Ball" live 20 miles south in Spanish Fork Utah. Bubble Ball reached number on Apples free apps chart.
So who was number 1 before? The unstoppable apps store "Angry Birds" that is who. So a game created by a bunch of adults was just beat by a game create by a child.
"Bubble Ball is a physics puzzle game that tasks players with getting a ball past a flag by placing various objects in its path and by doing things like tweaking gravity to help it along its way. (If you liked "Crayon Physics Deluxe" you'll like this game.)"
Bubble Ball has been download over 2 million times, it is also available in the Android market place, not bad of a kids first game.
Keep in mind Angry Birds is still sitting high on the apps chart, but Nay plans on adding more levels to the game and also plans on creating other apps down the road, so watch out Angry Birds.
