Adding Featured Items to the Home Page in Wordpress

This Article will explain the step by step process of adding featured items to your home page in Wordpress. The reason for adding featured items to your home page is so people can see first hand what kind of products you have to offer people when then visit your web site.

Step 1

You need to open you website and the Wordpress back office in Mozilla Firefox

Step 2

Within the back office of Wordpress you want to edit the home page and highlight over where it says image under featured item.

Step 3

Then on you actual website go out to on of you products and right click over the image and choose view image and copy the web site address for the image.

Step 4

Go back to Wordpress with image still highlighted click on the icon the looks like two square boxes within each other that is the insert image box. Once clicked, click on the tab From URL. Then paste in the image URL. For the alignment of the image select center then click on insert into post. The will insert the image as the featured item.

Step 5

Now highlight over title of product within Wordpress.

Step 6

Go to the actucal website again and highlight and copy the title of the product.

Step 7

Go back to Wordpress with title of product still highlighted paste the text in and then click on Update Page and you are go to go with a featured item on the home page for Wordpress.
